SEO For Your Business

Once your business is up and running you will need it to be found on Google to attract new customers. This is where SEO or Search Engine Optimisation comes into play.

This is the process of researching the market and tweaking your website so that it ranks high in Google. Once you get found in the search, this is result in more clicks to your site and more sales for your business.

Getting your business found online is an art. It involves research and an understanding of what search engines are looking for.

Marketing your website plays a key role in your businesses success. It makes your business look credible and can help you stand out and be a key source of traffic.

The great thing with SEO is that you can track it with monitoring tools to help you gain deeper insights. All websites I design and build have tracking in-built as standard.
Popular tools used for monitoring your website are Google Analytics and Webmaster tools. These show you how often your website is appearing in searches, the number of clicks and the time on site.
These measurements are key factors used by Google to decide where to rank your website. If it’s clicked on more often and people stay on your website it will rank higher than the others.

SEO Best Practices

As a web designer that cares about SEO, I purely engage in White Hat SEO. We work alongside Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, not against them.

Questions About SEO

What is Search Engine Optimisation?

This is the practice of improving a website’s ranking in search engines such as Google and Bing. There are many things you can do on your website to improve this, known as on-page SEO (relevancy). There are also many factors outside of your website, known as off-page SEO (popularity).

How long does it take to rank on page one of Google?

There is no clear answer to this question as every business and industry is different. According to multiple trusted sources, it’s usually between three and six months.

If you have a unique business in a niche market where it’s not so competitive it might not take so long. If your market and keywords are very competitive then it will take more time.
